AirTran Credit Cards – Has the Countdown Started?

Many of you know that on May 2, 2011 Southwest Airlines closed the acquisition of AirTran Holdings, Inc. Chase credit card. If you look at both of the offers, clearly the AirTran A+ Visa is a better offer. But with Southwest Airlines recently integrating their employees into the management positions at AirTran, it’s hard to imagine that they will continue running things they are.

I recently received an email let me know that I don’t need to worry about my AirTran account and that things are supposed to change just yet. However , in a recently press release Southwest said “Until a single operating certificate is secured from the Federal Aviation Administration, AirTran Operational Departments will continue operating under the AirTran operating certificate with the full authority of its operating teams..” which makes me believe that as soon as the FAA gives them their blessing, bye, bye AirTran.
